human emotions. Many people in your
school, in your hometown, and in the
world are afraid, though most would
never admit it. The goal is for you to
walk away from camp with the tools to
have unshakable courage no matter
what happens in your future."
This is the impetus for today's focus as we lead ourselves and the campers on a journey toward understanding what fear is and how it impacts our behavior. Fear is such a common emotion and yet many feign invincibility for "fear" that others might view them as weaker. Where does fear originate and why is it so powerful? We'll meet questions like these head on today as we continue to foster an unshakable core here at NBC HIU.

Today's Closing Program begins at 1:15 p.m and ends no later than 2:30 p.m. NBC apologizes for any confusion. Please come and support your camper on the final day. You will be able to pick-up your camper immediately following the program, buy NBC gear from the store and retrieve any leftover money from your camper's store bank account.
8:45 - 10 a.m.
Overnight campers clean rooms and move luggage to the gym.
10:15 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Complete individualized athletic player profiles and Camper Evaluations
12 - 1:00 p.m.
Lunch (Parents welcome to buy lunch and sit with campers)
1:15-2:15

About Coach Norman
Education: M.A. Fuller Theological Seminary; B.A. English/Chapman University
NBC Experience: 4 summers/8 camps/1 NBC International Tour (2008)
Player Experience: Chapman University Men's Basketball '93-'97/Semi-pro
Coaching Experience: NBC Camps 2004-2009/High School Varsity
Current Job: I teach American Literature at Ramona High School in beautiful Riverside, CA, run the Renaissance program there and coach the Lady Rams Varsity basketball team. I also have my own character development consulting firm known as "6ixth Man".
Why NBC?
NBC has been the highlight of my summers for five years giving me the privilege of joining hundeds of coaches worldwide in teaching superior basketball and life skills to youth. I discovered NBC through a friend from Spokane, WA who knew I was searching for a camp with substance that I could bring to Southern California. Eight camps and one international tour later I'm still convinced that the NBC way uniquely transforms kids in the most holistic way I've seen.

Meet Coach Marc
About Coach Marc
Coach Vilas has been coaching for the past nine years at the high school level. He is now starting his new position with Simpson University as the Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach. Coach Vilas spent six years coaching at Santa Fe Christian for both the Boy’s and Girl’s Varsity programs as well as the Jr. High program, wining over 20 games each year with each program. During those years he had the privilege of helping Randy Wright coach the Boy’s program to four straight CIF Championship games and the State Championship game in 2006. Coach Vilas has also coached at Capistrano Valley Christian, Tri-City Christian and two different club basketball programs. In the summer he also coaches for NBC Camps in California.

NBC Experience: 4 year camper; 6 year coach; 4 year master teacher; 2 year volleyball director = 38 camps!!!
Player Experience (High School): Varsity Volleyball & Varsity Basketball; College: Volleyball 4 years
Coaching Experience: Began coaching at 17; have since coached or assisted 11 teams (club and school), as well as worked 30 NBC Camps and counting.
Current Job: NBC Camps Volleyball Director & Simpson University Women's Volleyball Head Coach
Why NBC? NBC is my favorite place to be in the entire world. My year revolves around the summer camps and every day I think about camp memories and how to keep making NBC a GREAT place for campers and coaches alike. I started my first NBC Camp when I was 13, and I vowed then to be involved with NBC every summer for the rest of my life. NBC is the place where kids are loved for who they are, pushed to be an even better version of themselves, and praised for passion and hard work. Player Experience: 4 years of Varsity Basketball in High School and currently playing for CBU where she led her conference in rebounding during the 2007-2008 season.
Current Job: Student-Athlete
Why NBC?
I am involved because first and for most, I love God, I love children and I love basketball. So with that, I love what NBC does and what they focus on. Since I am given this opportunity to be a blessing to children in the things that I love to do and be apart of, what other way to do it, then with NBC Camps!

Player Experience: 4 years of Varsity Basketball in High School and currently playing for CBU where she led her conference in rebounding during the 2007-2008 season.
